Episode 30: TV on the Radio ”Return to Cookie Mountain”
It's time we do another listener-requested episode! This week, Scott asked us to have a listen to Tv on the Radio and their 2006 album "Return to Cookie Mountain." Sit back, relax, and let's check it out!
TV on the Radio is an indie rock/post-punk band out of Brooklyn, New York. They formed in 2001 and have run with the same lineup for all but one member. Multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Tunde Adebimpe, multi-instrumentalist David Andrew Sitek, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Kyp Malone, and Jaleel Bunton on drums and percussion. The band's former bassist Gerard Smith passed away in 2011 after an unfortunate bout of lung cancer. The band's second album "Return to Cookie Mountain" was released in July 2006 under Interscope. Touch and Go, and 4AD. The album was received positively by fans and critics alike, with many 4 out 5's, 9 out of 10's, A to A- rankings, and ranked #2 on Pitchfork's list of the top 50 albums of 2006. The album spawned two singles "Wolf Like Me" and "Province (feat. David Bowie)." For music, merch and more, visit www.tvontheradio.com
